Science Communication & Outreach
Outside of research, I have worked on several science communication and outreach initiatives, and I am always looking for ways to bridge the gap between research and the general public.
SynapTalks

At Smith College, I led the neuroscience podcast SynapTalks. My team and I interviewed Smith professors, alums, and professional scientists about their research, career trajectories, and the variety of career pathways available to neuroscience majors.
Covering topics from memory, bioconjugates, and glial cells to the age-old question of academia vs. industry, the goal of SynapTalks is to introduce listeners to research and advice from professional scientists. The podcast has a special emphasis on women and other marginalized identities in STEM.
Science Communication Talk and Workshop

In my final semester at Smith, I organized a science communication talk and workshop jointly hosted by the Smith College Department of Neuroscience and the Jandon Center for Community Engagement.
The event included a talk by invited science journalist Carmen Drahl and a workshop teaching participants to deliver recent science news to a variety of different audiences.
